Participants will have participated in Week 1 of this 2 week course, and in the second week will bring back their images to develop as a print, at The Glasgow Print Studio, working again with artist and print maker Ian McNicol. There is also the possibility that your image may be chosen for one of a limited number of A5 postcards which will illustrate the built environment and the green spaces in the conservation area. An exhibition including the work will take place during 2015.
When & Where
Woodlands Community Cafe
Woodlands Community Development Trust is a small local charity, whose work is having a big impact. Our Community Garden supports over 50 families to grow their own food and our volunteer training programmes have helped people learn new skills, reduce their isolation and further develop the garden as a therapeutic space. Our Community Café’s inclusive approach has enabled people from diverse backgrounds to work together collaboratively and enabled us to restore a sense of community and solidarity. Woodlands Community Garden has grown more than just food, it has grown a community. It is a vibrant outdoor community centre – a wonderfully therapeutic space that helps people to recover from the stresses and strains of every day life. Linked to the garden, our community café serves up more than just food. Pioneering an alternative approach to food banks that centres around a shared meal, we have reduced the stigma of accessing food aid and this year served up over 3600 healthy meals. The food at the café is shared and in that sharing everyone is made to feel equal.
