About this event

Considering a caesarean birth

This is a standalone virtual workshop facilitated by a King's Consultant Midwife and is for birthing women and people who are considering choosing a planned (elective) caesarean birth for their baby.

We welcome you at any stage in your pregnancy to find out more about the options available to you, recommendations for care and planning your birth. Non-judgmental discussion surrounding benefits, risks and alternatives of planned caesarean birth, how to choose a caesarean birth at King's and what to do if you go into labour before your caesarean birth.

This is not a discussion for those who have had a caesarean birth before - please join the Birth After Caesarean workshop for those considering VBAC. You must be booked to give birth at King's College Hospital Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) to attend.

Fathers and partners are also welcome.

It is designed to be interactive and you will be welcome to ask questions.
