We have been invited to Haddon Copse Farm by Tom Mettyear and Mark. Together they have created an inspiring and award winning organic farm from scratch in this beautiful spot in Dorset.
Haddon Copse Farm is a 30 acre Soil Association certified organic farm in
the heart of Dorset’s Blackmore Vale. The farm produces award winning
organic meat, under the brand name Angel Cottage Organics, with an emphasis
on high quality, high welfare, local produce. As well as being a working
farm, Haddon Copse Farm also provides a home and haven for all: there is an
abundance of wildlife, an ‘away from it all’ campsite and a growing
programme of courses, workshops and retreats which embrace the philosophy of
nurturing the soul through a return to nature. For more information please
The nearest train station is Gillingham in Dorset. South West trains run to and from Waterloo from this station. There are taxis available at the station, and it is a 25 minute taxi ride to the farm

This is a very special and exploratory workshop in which we will focus, using the constellation method, on making space for animals in our system. This maybe the animals we live with, or an animal in our past that has a place in our heart, or perhaps a spirit animal that we feel walks with us.
We will be meeting in a circle, either outside or in the cow barn, depending on the weather. In both settings we will be surrounded by the animals who wish to come along…. There could be sheep, Ruby Red Devon cows, geese, hens or hedgehogs, field mice and others watching on.
We will work with what is arising, we will give voice to the animals and we will listen and follow and see…. Making space for the emergent and opening our hearts to the gifts and wisdom that animals give.
What is a constellation?
A constellation begins with a conversation in which the difficulty or issue is presented, and the hopes for resolution are identified. The participant is then asked to select group members to represent elements of the system under consideration – in this workshop we will include the animals. These ‘representatives’ are ‘set up’ to stand in a configuration called a Constellation or ‘living map’, and they are asked by the facilitator to feed back basic information which both contributes towards a fuller understanding of the present difficulty and supports movements towards resolution. By creating a constellation of the issue, we can begin to see what is blocking movement or what it is that needs aligning in order to bring peace, to the whole system. The system may of course be our family system, our relationship, our working environment or our own integrated health and wellbeing. The constellation approach is able to work with any issue.
Resolutions come from what Bert Hellinger, the originator of this work, calls ‘the Orders of Love’ or ‘Movements of the Spirit’ and are based on naturally occurring universal forces, such as time and place and inclusion, which govern the balance and health in all systems.
As well as discussion and teaching, there will be space to look at 5 or 6 issues during the day. We will simply ask the group who would like to do a personal piece of work and will select who ever feels ready at that moment. As a result, please be clear that the opportunity to present your own issue is not guaranteed. It is however our consistent experience in this work that all those present will, in one way or another, have an equally powerful experience. Whether you have brought the issue, actively participated as a representative, or held the space for the work in the outer circle, each constellation offers profound insight and opportunities for everyone in developing new perspectives and clarity on aspects of our own experience. We will of course all reflect on each piece of work together at the end.
I provide a confidential, safe and supportive environment for this work to be undertaken. The process can be profound and engaging on both intellectual and emotional levels. Please come prepared to participate with a spirit of openness and generosity.
