An exciting interactive day for Year 10 students interested in careers in engineering, construction and the rail industry

About this Event

A journey through all sectors of engineering, construction and rail with information on the careers in this sector. Inspiring talks from industry experts about the breadth of jobs available, plus interactive, engaging workshops to provide students with hands-on opportunities to experience the type of work available in these industries.

Information about the Industry Day - 5th March 2020:

Audience: Year 10 Students

Times: 10am to 2.30pm

10am - Welcome

10.15am - Careers in Industry Presentations from STEM Ambassador and business leader about the Engineering, Rail and Construction sectors.

10.45am - Interactive sessions with employers and employer careers fair - attendees will go through six interactive workshops with local employers, exploring what it means to develop a career in their industry. One workshop slot also allows students to visit the employer exhibition, where a larger number of local employers will be hosting stands, displays and demonstrations to promote careers within their industry sector.

12.15pm - Lunch

13.00pm - Interactive sessions with employers and employer careers fair - continuation of morning session.

2.30pm - Schools depart

Spaces for school groups are strictly limited - with a maximum of 30 students per school. This means that schools should consider which are the most appropriate students to bring - ideally those with a specific interest in STEM subjects and careers: eg. science, maths, D&T.
