Event description
Construction Law Committee - Foundation Level Training (1st November, 8th November, 15th November)

About this Event

Description:

The City of London Law Society Construction Law Committee is running three free Foundation-level Training Sessions aimed at newly-qualified and trainee solicitors, as well as those interested in developing their understanding of construction issues.

The training sessions will take place over three weeks in November, and will bring together accredited experts in the field who will share their expertise on topics such as Construction Contracts legislation, Industry standard forms and Procurement route options. Each training session can be attended individually, with each one focusing on different issues. However, attending all three will give participants the most thorough grounding in Construction law.

These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to establish a strong base of knowledge in the issues and hear from solicitors on the CLLS Construction Law Committee, as well as barristers and in-house legal experts in the construction sector.

If you are interested in attending, please Register free of charge. A more detailed programme will be shared with participants.

Programme:

Session One: Construction Procurement - 9am-12.30pm Friday 1/11/19

Venue: Macfarlanes LLP, 20 Cursitor Street, London EC4A 1LT

Session Two: Construction contracts legislation and construction issues - 9am-12.30pm Friday 8/11/19

Session Three: Bonds, guarantees, standard forms and insurance - 9am-12.30pm Friday 15/11/2019

About the CLLS Construction Law Committee:

The CLLS Construction Committee acts as a forum for construction lawyers working in the City of London to meet and consider topical areas of law relating to the construction industry. All areas of construction law are catered for, including litigation, drafting, PFI/PPP work and international and domestic projects work.

Committee members include many leading practitioners from private practice, as well as leading in-house construction lawyers from major contractors and consultants.

About the CLLS:

The City of London Law Society is one of the largest local Law Societies in the United Kingdom. There are 17,000 solicitors practising in the Square Mile, who make up 15% of the profession in England and Wales and the CLLS represents over 14,000 of these solicitors through individual and corporate membership.

In 2007, the City of London Law Society formally separated from the City of London Solicitors' Company to become a free-standing local Law Society, confirming its position as the professional representative body for solicitors and law firms in the City.
