Description

Constructive Conservation

Seeing potential in the past - positive and collaborative approaches to managing change to our heritage

Free CPD course as part of the Historic England ‘Essentials’ training programme.

Heritage-led regeneration is now firmly recognised as a force for successful place-shaping. Repair, adaptation and re-use of heritage assets can deliver long term benefits in social, environmental and economic terms. A series of informed presentations, workshops and case studies highlight the mutual benefits that exist between agendas of growth and conservation. As such, the course offers an insight to planners and heritage professionals of the opportunities for harnessing the value and significance of the historic environment in sustainable development.

Courses are for local authority planning officers and early career postgraduate heritage professionals working in the public sector only.

Essentials courses are not open to individuals working in the private sector.

Skills introduced are essential for development managers, strategic planners, heritage managers and those looking to establish a grounding in planning for the historic environment.

When booking onto this course, please ensure you use your professional email address.
