About this event

Consultation: UN Plastic Treaty: How to reach zero plastic pollution by 2040?

Plastic pollution is a planetary crisis with impacts on ecosystems, biodiversity, the climate and human health.

In light of the ongoing UN Plastic Treaty negotiations, Systemiq is developing an independent report defining a Roadmap to end plastic pollution by 2040 . The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers as a contribution to the High Ambition Coalition to End Plastic Pollution.

This roadmap aims to provide analytical insights and recommend a package of policies and control measures for the Plastic Treaty to achieve near-zero plastic pollution by 2040.

Consultation webinar

As part of this process, we are inviting organisations working on plastic pollution to join us in an online consultation where Systemiq will showcase our preliminary recommendations and provide the opportunity to discuss the policies and measures that we believe should feature in the Plastic Treaty. We actively welcome your insight and feedback on how to shape the policy package proposal.
