Consultation - Legal Awareness
Do we have to consult?
What should we put in our consultation?
How can it reduce the risk of the policy decision being challenged?
If you’re working on policy development (or may do in future) this training is a must!
It will give you the essential understanding of legal requirements you need to ensure that you are consulting appropriately and mitigating legal risks.
You’ll learn—
· When a requirement to consult arises and when you might need to reconsult
· Who should be consulted and how
· What makes a fair consultation and what might happen if you get it wrong
· How the Cabinet Office Consultation Principles will help you
· When you need to speak to your lawyer
