Consultation Planning and Fundraising for Churches
Thu 6 April 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 BST
What's it about?
Carrying out effective consultation – a key process for making sure your church project is really supported and shaped by those it is aimed at – and having a structured approach to the all-important matter of fundraising, are both crucial parts of delivering successful church development projects. This is the chance for you to develop the knowledge and confidence to get to grips with these key processes.
The day will be led by Isabel Assaly and Rachel Barrett from the Churches Conservation Trust. In the morning we’ll look at different kinds of consultation, how to pitch consultation at particular audiences, how to make the process user friendly and how to record and make best use of the results. There will be an opportunity to start to develop a consultation strategy for your project and accordingly to begin to directly apply the learning from the session.
In the afternoon, we’ll look at how to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for your project. We’ll consider the key principles of successful fundraising and what you need in place before you start. We’ll look at putting together a strategy and tailoring that to the needs of your particular project. And we’ll review some of the key sources of money that are out there both in the context of church projects specifically and the wider sources you may be able to tap into. Again, there will be a hands-on focus with the opportunity to start to put together a fundraising plan for your project.
The event free of charge, including a sandwich lunch. It is offered as part of the Inspired Futures Project, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
