Like coaching itself, supervision works better when both parties understand what is expected of them and have the skills to contribute to the process. In this session, David Clutterbuck, Carol Whitaker and Michelle Lucas will share some of their key learning from their recently published book Coaching Supervision: A Practical Guide for Supervisees.
Among the topics they will explore are:
• What is Coaching Supervision?
• Different types /models/tools of supervision.
• What qualities are needed for a coach / mentor to be an effective supervisee?
• With a strong UK influence in supervision activity – what impact does this have for Pan-culturalism and diversity in supervision?
In keeping with their highly practical writing for the book, the session will be interactive and you will be invited to share your own experience of similar tools and engage in small discussion groups.
You will be a coach/mentor or have responsibility for coaching /mentoring in an organisation and have an interest in Coaching Supervision.
Aims for the session and learning outcomes :
• Greater clarity about what how coaching supervision fits into best practice.
• Review some new tools and approaches which you could use in your own and organisations coaching practice.
• Developed some practical strategies for how to develop your Supervision practice.
David Clutterbuck , Carol Whitaker and Michelle Lucas
David is a Global expert in Coaching & Mentoring, a visiting professor of Oxford Brookes, Sheffield Hallam, York St John’s ,and has written 60 books.
Carol has experience at Board level in a number of industries, an MBA with an early career in HR. The development of potential in the people has always been her passion. She specialises in Executive Coaching, Supervision and Mentoring Entrepreneurs.
Michelle’s background is in Psychology & HR. She trained in Coaching and Supervision at Oxford Brookes, she also has an MBA. A practising Executive Coach and Supervisor she is also the AC Supervision Lead.
