Event description

Description

As a Data Scientist, are you up to date in your Consulting Skills?

While the technical knowledge is highly important, it must be supported by top analytical and communication skills. By joining this training, you can ensure to have all the elements in balance to offer the highest value to your (internal/external) customers.

CONTENT

During this two day workshop, participants will have opportunity to tackle a small project/analysis from A to Z. Starting from a very atypical case and corresponding data, they will work in small groups to gather and build requirements, identify analytical problems, perform analyses, prepare and present a report.

Topics such as data evaluation, data quality, communicating with client, project management are covered - as well as other ones we currently keep secret.

Participants are expected to ask as many questions as possible: finding by themselves key issues is the objective of the workshop. At the end, they will leave with a toolkit of good practices to tackle a concrete problem. In particular, we will share a pool of gold questions any consultant should know.

TARGET

This workshop is targeting junior consultants in data science wanting to quickly acquire good bases. Nonetheless, as any data scientist is at the service of clients, should they be internal, it is also adequate for any analyst. Experienced ressources can also participate and we adjust requirements (for instance, expecting a shiny application at the end of the workshop or having environment set-up in cloud).

ABOUT THE TRAINERS

- Eric Lecoutre is an experienced consultant with 20 years of experience with statistics/analytics/data mining. During his career, he has worked in various sectors (bank, insurance, retail, automotive, utilities...) and multiples domains (marketing, risk, fraud, supply chain...). He is bilingual SAS/R. In 2016, he created WeLoveDataScience, a company dedicated to data science value co-creation.

- Sven Wauters is a senior Data Scientist working with Python and R having a strong interest for machine learning and cognitive computing. He is expert of anomaly detection and Shiny. He joins WeLoveDataScience in September 2017 to focus on data products / assets packaging.
