Contemporary Ballet Performance Course

This 8 week general level course is open to adults with some dance experience in ballet, contemporary or any related style, who want to improve their general fitness while learning to create and perform original dance choreography.
Grow your confidence, build performance skills and expand your fitness and freedom of movement.
During the course you will focus intensively on learning an original contemporary ballet choreography, which will hone your fitness by building muscle strength in your hips, legs and back, and coordination to create beautiful lines and amazing flow and release in your movement.
You will be coached intensively to perfect your movement and expressive dance quality, with your work building over the 8 sessions to culminate in the the creation of a dance film.
The choreography created in the course builds on the basic principles of classical ballet and contemporary techniques to give you a solid technique that allows you to respond effortlessly to choreographic combinations, moving expansively and with new found freedom.
In a supportive, friendly environment where dancers from all backgrounds are welcome, you will receive professional coaching to hone your technique and express your dance personality.
Course Time and Dates: This intensive course runs for 8 weeks on Mondays from 7.30pm - 8.30pm NOT including Bank Holidays

To get the most out of the course, participants are advised to attend every session. Please advise the course leader if there will be any planned absences for any course dates.
The course fee covers the whole 8 week course from 3rd April to 12th June (No Classes on Bank Holidays). No refunds or transfers are available except in excpetional medical circumstances.
Briar is a dancer and choreographer who trained in ballet in Australia at the National Theatre, before embarking on a career as a performer in dance, opera and circus. As a late starter herself, Briar loves working with adult dancers who need a confidence boost to tackle the infinitely exciting challenges of ballet and aerial training.
