Description
This event will examine the regulatory, social, ethical and medical issues associated with all forms of fertility control. It will also address the role of disruptive technology, the shift to ex ante responses to reproductive choice and wider intersectional/ equality concerns surrounding fertility control. The event aims to bring together a range of interdisciplinary perspectives and stakeholders, including policy makers, parent groups, health providers, clinicians and academics. The aim of the day will be to identify new issues, future challenges and possible solutions for policy makers.

Registration will commence at 9:00am and the event will start promptly at 9:30am.
Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.
There will be a reception at the end of the event (circa 4:30pm).
We are hoping to run an additional speaker stream at this event and are looking for papers in the following subject areas:
1. ‘Motherhood’ and reproductive control as the cornerstone of gender inequality or personal freedom?
2. The heteronormative orientation of (biological) parenthood, reproduction and fertility control.
3. Discriminatory national contraceptive policies.
4. The ethics of divergent natalist population policies.
The event is targeted at a range of stakeholders and is intended to be interdisciplinary in nature. It is open to academics, PGRs and other interested stakeholders.
