Description

Working in silver and base metals such as copper, you will learn piercing, filing, soldering and be introduced to doming, folding & scoring and roller pressing. Having learnt a range of simple techniques you will begin to create pieces of contemporary jewellery and miniature sculptural forms. Please note that this is not a purpose built jewellery workshop but a great supportive environment for exploration and experimentation. The course is suitable for students of all abilities including beginners. Copper will be supplied and advice will be given on purchasing silver.

Anna Watson has been an artist, designer and maker for the past eighteen years, she achieved a First Class degree in 3D Design Materials Practice at the University of Brighton where she specialised in woodwork and light metal. For the past five years she has worked in the jewellery industry for commercial designers as well as local artisan jewellers. Anna also has her own jewellery business where she creates her own ranges and works to commission. Her work has been exhibited at New Designers in London, Portal in South Wales and she has supplied wholesale pieces to the Design Museum and at local high end galleries.
