Description

Working in silver and base metals such as copper, you will learn various skills including piercing, filing, soldering, roller pressing, folding and scoring, and ring making.

Please note that this is not a purpose built jewellery workshop but a great supportive environment for exploration and experimentation. The course is suitable for students of all abilities including absolute beginners. The emphasis is on creativity and experimentation as well as developing technical skills.

Copper will be supplied and advice will be given on purchasing silver. Students will need to purchase their own saw blades.

Anna has been an artist, designer and maker for the past eighteen years, she achieved a First Class degree in 3D Materials Practice at University of Brighton where she specialised in woodwork and metalwork. For the past seven years she worked in the jewellery industry for commercial designers as well as local artisan jewellers. Anna has her own jewellery business where she creates jewellery ranges and works to commission making light metal objects and jewellery. Her work has been exhibited at New Designers in London, Portal in South Wales and she has supplied her work wholesale to London Design Museum and at a selection of high end galleries in Scotland and the UK. She has work in Atelier Brighton and participates in national retail shows. Anna is continually developing designs and enjoys pushing the boundaries of jewellery and making, she is currently adapting her work and applying to do residencies in Europe.
