Content Design London Academy (14-week online course) £2395
Event Information
About this Event
This is our third academy after launching in 2019. We are giving another 18 students the opportunity to run a complete content design project for a client, learning from some of the team who created the discipline.
For the full outline please visit our academy website.
The charity we will be working with is due to be confirmed.
In 2019 we worked with Action Duchenne and Safelives in 2020.
The course - learning by doing
Over 14 weeks, from 7th April until 07th July 2021, you will be working on content discovery, production and future planning for a chosen charity.
The academy combines the learning of our content design courses with the practical work of our content sprints. All our techniques are based on projects we have worked on in government, for charities and in the private sector over the past 12 years.
This is a hands-on course where you’ll be producing real content. We will take you through all the aspects of a content project:
understanding your audience
writing targeted content
measuring success
looking at the bigger picture - content strategy
What you get out of it
After the course you will be able to:
carry out focussed discovery research
identify and validate user needs
create accessible user-focussed content
analyse data and set success and value metrics
talk about all the elements of an agile content design project
show a real-world content design example you have worked on
talk about content design within your organisation from team to board level

Testimonials from previous academies
The weekly sessions were well structured and seamlessly delivered by Hinrich and the team. The students were obviously highly engaged and the variety of the sessions built on each of their professional strengths. They learned why content design is important, how to create and design content and how to hone and perfect their content.
The biggest change for me has come from seeing a content design process through from discovery to production with a client. I can talk about that process with a lot more clarity. Advocating real investment in content design, championing user needs in client meetings is carrying more weight because of that increased knowledge. I’m starting to find my feet with those ‘tricky conversations’ with stakeholders who are struggling to see the value in good content practices.
The community of support from content designers and fellow alumni of the academy has been amazing. I’ve never been on a course where the whole class were as enthused and engaged with what we were learning. Throughout there was a willingness to share and help each other get the best very out of it and that’s continued on since. In short, it was wholly memorable and valuable in lasting ways.
