Course Outline

Incontinence is very common (about 26% of people over 65). While it can affect quality of life, often people don’t realise they can seek help. There are many myths about incontinence but there are effective ways to manage it.

Join our free 2-hour training session for unpaid carers and volunteers working with older adults. With practical advice and tips, you’ll learn how to prevent, manage and deal with incontinence effectively. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and the opportunity learn from others experience.

You’ll hear about:

  • Types and causes of urinary incontinence
  • Simple tips to prevent or manage incontinence, including using the Live Longer Better continence checklist
  • Basics of continence products and skin care
  • Where to get advice and more help from a healthcare professional if you need to.

The Live Longer Better initiative harnesses the best possible ways we can be healthy. It uses physical activity as a lever to increase independence. For more tips and support, download the continence checklist from the Live Longer Better website Live Longer Better Hampshire website.
