Description

This event has been organised to mark the launch of the University of Central Lancashire's brand new fast track BA (Hons) Continuing Drama Production course. It is specifically for prospective applicants for September 2018 entry, along with any teachers, career advisors, parents and industry professionals interested in finding out more about this innovative two year degree.

The event runs from 10.30am-2.30pm and includes three hands-on workshops, lunch, Q&A with industry professionals and access to service staff working in Admissions, Student Support and the Students' Union. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view accommodation and take a Campus tour.

View our excellent facilities, meet the course team and undertake workshops including:

• Four strangers. One locked metal box. What’s inside? Interactive story session designed to show that Character + Conflict = Drama

• Discover what’s needed to shoot an intense and fiery soap opera scene on an exterior street set using the latest multi camera technologies.

• Get involved in the process of making a TV drama on our interior pub set and experience how best to communicate with actors to create a dramatic performance.

Industry Q&A
The highlight of the day will be an opportunity to gain an insight into the world of continuing drama through an industry panel.

FAQs

Parking: Spaces will be limited on the day, so we recommend travelling via public transport if feasible. If you do need a parking space, use the University's Fylde Road car park. The entrance to the car park is next door to the retailer Ace Decor (sat nav: 140 Fylde Road, PR1 2TY). There will be student ambassadors on the car park to guide you to Venue 53 which is a two minute walk away. Disabled bays for blue badge holders are located on the rigth as you enter the card park.

Smile you're on camera: Please be aware that throughout the duration of the event there will be official event photography/filming taking place for marketing and promotional purposes.These images/footage may be used in both on and offline publications, public relations and advertising, such as social media, brochures, information leaflets, adverts, posters and other formats for the promotion of the University and of University courses at its partner institutions. If for whatever reason, you or a member of your group, does not wish to be photographed, please indicate when booking or make yourself known at the check-in desk on arrival or to the photographer in that area.

We would also like to add you to our prospective student database so that we can contact you in the future regarding our courses and events. If for whatever reason you do not wish to be contacted please indicate when booking or on the day of the event.

Q&A session: Please note due to professional work commitments industry contacts may have to cancel at short notice. Other panel members will be confirmed in due course.

11.15am-1.00pm: Workshops
1.00pm-1.30pm: Lunch and service stands
1.30pm-2.15pm: Q&A with industry professionals
2.15pm-3.00pm: Accommodation viewing, Campus tours and support to make an application
