The London Library, the Roundhouse and the Barbican are delighted to be joining forces to bring together alumni of our respective writing development programmes for an evening of discussion, readings, networking and conversation in the atmospheric Reading Room of The London Library. The event will have a focus on poetry but will be open to all alumni.

Join us at 6.30pm for drinks before we settle in at 7pm to hear poetry from an alum of each programme: Katie Byford (LL & BYP), Sarah Lasoye (BYP) and Tom Bailey (RHPC). We'll then invite a panel of alumni to discuss elements of post-programme poetry life including Fathima Zahra (BYP and RHPC) on writing communities, Annie Hayter on poetics and teaching practice and Natalie Linh Bolderston on putting together a collection. This will be followed by some curated conversation in smaller groups before ending with more drinks and chat.

The evening will be facilitated by poet, editor and artistic director/lead facilitator for the Barbican Young Poets Programme, Jacob Sam-La Rose.

The Roundhouse Poetry Collective is a group of young writers and performers who meet weekly to create, experiment and develop their craft, under guidance from established and celebrated poets.

Barbican Young Poets is an artist development initiative and community for those who wish to explore what’s possible for their poetry and creative expression, facilitated by poet and performer, Jacob Sam-La Rose, alongside other guest artists.

The London Library Emerging Writers Programme offers Library membership, development masterclasses, peer support, networking opportunities and community to 40 writers of every genre and writing discipline each year.

NB We have allocated an equal number of tickets to alumni of each programme. Please book the ticket relevant to you. Please let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can reallocate your ticket.
