Continuous Improvement – facts, fiction, and myth busting
Thu 1 June 2017, 09:00 – 12:00 BST
Do you want lower costs, shorter lead-times, and better profits?
Are you interested in structured improvement, but don’t know how to get started?
For many businesses, the answer to both these questions is yes. If so, this session can help you find answers, and give you a few tools to start the process.
Join me, Tim Akerman, to learn more about this vital business activity. I have been working in process improvement for over 20 years. As a Chartered Quality Professional, lean six sigma master black belt, and senior member of the American Society for Quality, I can help you understand why continuous improvement is important, and how to get started. Over the course of 2 hours some of the myths about continuous improvement will be de-bunked, and you will discover the simple steps needed to start your journey. I will explain the behaviours most likely to support a successful continuous improvement strategy, and how to start engaging your whole workforce in improving your business.
These techniques are not just for big businesses, they can be applied to any size of business. During the presentation, some examples of the training methods will be used to demonstrate what is involved in gaining a professional continuous improvement qualification, backed by the British Quality Foundation.
The event starts at 09:00, attendees are welcome from 08:30, coffee and tea will be available on arrival. At the end of the session, there will be half an hour for questions, and half an hour to network.
What you will get:
• A 2 hour workshop with a practical insight into continuous improvement
• Tools and techniques for you to apply in your business with immediate effect
• Sharing best practice with fellow businesses
• Ability to network with fellow like-minded professionals
• Option to develop further in this field
• Invitation to join the PEAK North process improvement leaders group on Linked In
