Description

Join Which? on the afternoon of 5th June for the launch of Control, Alt or Delete? The Future of Consumer Data.

The digital revolution should herald a revolution in consumer empowerment, however consumers are anxious about how data is being collected, shared and stored. Both consumers and businesses will lose out from low understanding and trust in the digital ecosystem. Join us to debate how the data ecosystem affects consumers and what needs to change.

At this half-day conference we will launch our new report including in-depth research on the attitudes and behaviour of people from across the country to the use of their data. You will hear from Kenneth Cukier, Senior Editor for Digital Products at The Economist, the host of its weekly podcast on technology and the co-author of the New York Times Bestseller Big Data: A Revolution that Transforms How We Live, Work and Think. The final session of the event will give you the chance to debate the implications with an expert panel of speakers.

We stand up for what’s right for consumers, their experiences drive us to make things better. Our research gets to the heart of the consumer issues that matter, and our expert advice is completely impartial. Same goes for our product reviews – our rigorous tests and expert recommendations help consumers to make better decisions. We fund our work mainly through member subscriptions. Businesses whose products or services earn our endorsements can, for a fee, use our name to promote them, and we get commission from some retailer websites where consumers can buy products or services that we feature on our site. We're not influenced by third parties and we don't accept freebies from product manufacturers or retailers.

Everything we do is about championing consumers. We’ll always be on their side, fighting their corner and working to make them more powerful.
