WHAT: Conversation Cafe Event: ‘What Makes the Ideal Eating Disorders Service?’
WHO: ANYONE with a personal or professional interest in eating disorders. We welcome ANYONE with an interest in eating disorders and disordered eating – individuals with past or present personal experience of an eating disorder/disordered eating; parents, families and friends; health and care professionals; students; counsellors; psychotherapists; and anyone else with an interest in eating disorders. All welcome!
Those of us with an interest in or experience of eating disorders are well aware that there is a lack of both private and public services in Scotland for eating disorders and disordered eating. Any help, support and treatment that is on offer is often time-limited, not suitable, inadequate, inaccessible, or fails to cover the wide range of needs and preferences required by patients, clients, families and professionals.
The latest Conversation Cafe hosted by the Eating Disorders Special Interest Network (Scotland) aims to bring together anyone with an interest in eating disorders to discuss what does an eating disorder service need to offer and what, indeed, is ‘the ideal eating disorders service?’. What are your experiences? What are you views and opinions? What do you think the ideal eating disorder service should offer? We hope to take some anonymous notes on the day to prepare a professional report in the near future to submit to both the Scottish Parliament and other service providers. So, YOUR VOICE COUNTS! Your voice and experiences ARE important!!
There is a limited number of spaces available, so we advice booking your place as soon as possible as we anticipate a lot of interest! There is a small cost for this event, which is to cover room hire, refreshments and the booking fee on Eventbrite.
We are also offering FREE MEMBERSHIP to the Eating Disorders Special Interest Group (Scotland) for 1 year (to October 2016). You can sign up for Membership and receive your Membership Pack on the day of the event (or visit our website for Membership).
