Event description
Join Against the Run of Play for a conversation on creative practices impacting the development of the femxle game.

About this Event

The talk will feature 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶, 𝗥𝗼 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 & 𝗟𝗶𝗽𝗮 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 and will be moderated by 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 from Against the Run of Play.

The open conversation will focus on the new infrastructures that these women are building to enhance diversity and gender equality within football. These range from podcasts and radio shows, to digital communities and the architectural site of the pitch, providing spaces for new voices and stories to be heard. We will discuss these platforms, communities of involvement and funding models as well as the WWC and the development of the game from grassroots to the international stage.

The event will take place on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟗 from 𝟏𝟐:𝟑𝟎 - 𝟐𝐩𝐦 at the 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐮𝐛, 121-123 Deptford High St, SE8 4NS. It will include a potluck lunch, so feel free to bring some snacks or help yourselves to ours.

Followed by screenings of both quarter final games, Italy 🇮🇹 vs. Netherlands 🇳🇱 at 𝟐𝐩𝐦 & Germany 🇩🇪 vs. Sweden 🇸🇪 at 𝟓:𝟑𝟎𝐩𝐦.

Please get in touch with us if you have any access needs we can accommodate.
