Conversation Starters: Death & Dying
Thu 11 May 2017, 18:00 – 21:30 BST
Death and dying affect us all, but as a society we rarely talk about this shared experience. This film screening and panel discussion aims to start a conversation about death and dying in our local community. Doors will open at 18.00.
We’ll start with an introduction at 18.30 by Baroness Julia Neuberger - rabbi, cross-bench peer, former chief executive of the King’s Fund, writer and broadcaster.
This will be followed by a screening of the film Two Weeks - a bitter-sweet comedy which follows a family's day by day struggle to deal with their mother's illness, intercut with her own reflections on her life and her family.
After the film there will be a panel discussion, including a person living with life limiting illness, a high profile clinician/researcher in palliative care, and a cultural expert. There will be opportunities for you to ask questions and share your views and reflections. Then to really get the conversation going, there will be a drinks reception. The evening will close by around 21.30.
This is a free event, but please ensure you register below as spaces are limited
