Event description
Join colleagues from the UK in January and February in part three of four linked online conversations on visual arts and co-creation.

About this event

Who holds the power in co-creation? What is the difference between participation and co-creation? How is that reflected in the experiences of those involved? How do we value artwork which has been co-created? We will explore approaches to shared decision making and co-authorship, and the ethical considerations of this work.

Chair: Natalia Palombo, Director of Deveron Projects

Contributors: François Matarasso, Artist, Writer and Researcher, and Glasgow-based artist Nadia Rossi.

Sharing Space

Sharing Space explores how artists, organisations and people create art and catalyse social change.

Each session will include presentations, discussion, social time, and space to share practice.

We will examine how co-creation challenges established hierarchies within the visual arts sector, learn from co-creation practice in other fields, unpick the challenges, benefits, and characteristics of co-creation through case studies from across the UK and understand how these approaches can transform the ways we work.

As the sector emerges from the impact of the pandemic, we consider the power of co-creation to deliver radical change on societal issues such as tackling social inequalities and injustice.
