About this event

Business • Career

So, you got fired, laid off, restructured, canned. Welcome to the club, baby! In today’s seismically changing job market, getting fired doesn’t automatically mean you failed; it’s a rite of passage.

With their decades of experience in high-stakes leadership roles, Laura Brown and Kristina O’Neill know firsthand the challenges (and thrilling opportunities) that come with losing a job, no matter where you are in your career. They’ve been through the shock, grief, anger, and confusion, and they’re here to help you navigate the experience.

This evening is about career recovery and bouncing back with more professional mojo than ever!

Laura Brown is the founder of LB Media, and the chair of (RED)’s Creative Council. She sits on the boards of (RED), The Fashion Trust US, Me Too. Movement and Foot Soldiers Park, Selma. Previously, she was editor-in-chief of InStyle, executive editor of Harper’s Bazaar, and senior editor at W.

Kristina O’Neill is head of Sotheby’s Media and editor in chief of Sotheby’s Magazine. Previously, she served as editor in chief of WSJ. Magazine, executive editor at Harper’s Bazaar, and worked at New York magazine and Time Out New York. O’Neill is on the board of Swedish fashion brand Toteme and is a City Meals ambassador. A graduate of NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, she serves on the Gallatin Alumni Council.

The event will end with an audience Q&A and then stick around for drinks and debriefing.
