CoolTan Arts Open Afternoon
Monthly Open Afternoons provide an opportunity to visit CoolTan Arts and see what we offer. They are intended for professionals from the fields of health and/or the arts, as well as potential participants and volunteers, or those with an interest in how creativity can improve mental health.
This month's special 'Man Up Man Down' theme will be men's mental health, in recognition of International Men's Day on November 19th.
The Open Afternoon includes:
Free Health Checks
Presentations on Volunteering, Walks and Self Advocacy
Art Making Activities themed around men's mental health
Poetry Readings and Exhibition exploring the meaning of Modern Masculinity
- Panel Discussion with photographic artist Daniel Regan, CoolTan Arts members and further guest speakers
Our Wellbeing Advisor and Community Involvement Advocate as well as tutors and staff, are on hand to discuss the various programmes, answer any questions and provide tours of CoolTan Arts.
Modern Masculinity Exhibition:
21 November 2016 - 27 January 2017
This exhibition explores modern masculinity and how it affects mental health. It features over 20 poetry and visual arts by CoolTan Arts participants, all of whom have lived experience of mental health distress.
