This workshop is part of the Co-operative Islington project & funded by Islington Council.

There is an ongoing debate around the differences and similarities between social enterprises and cooperatives. This course will assist participants to understand these terms and to map the fields of practice in which cooperatives and social enterprises operate.

Participants will be introduced to tools and resources that will enable them to find and access resources within the cooperative and social enterprise fields of practice.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course participants will:

Understand the similarities and differences between cooperatives and social enterprises

Be able to map the resources and networks within social enterprise and cooperative fields of practice

Have access to tools for their cooperative to mobilise the resources needed to flourish.

This workshop is part of the Co-operative Islington project & funded by Islington Council. Douglas Racionzer, who will be facilitating the workshop, is a social entrepreneur with a personal imperative to engage communities to dream and flourish, organising with them and empowering their lives. He has years of experience working with economic development programmes and is currently working as a community development manager on Gillett Square in Hackney.
