Event description

Description

Coping with Christmas is for anyone supporting a person with an eating disorder. Due to the interactive and peer sharing format of the workshop this course is not appropriate for people with an eating disorder or organisations wanting to learn more about eating disorders. It is essential these courses are only attended by carers supporting a loved one with an eating disorder.

This is a structured and interactive one-day workshop from 10am-4.30pm with lunch included. This one-day interactive workshop will equip carers with the skills to support someone with an eating disorder over the festive period so that they feel more in control and less overwhelmed. Our training will help a loved one to address their hopes and fears about Christmas, identify potential triggers and make a collaborative plan with their parent or carer.

You will hear from other families about their experiences and receive peer-to-peer support. This course will also include presentations and information about Beat’s services. Where possible you will hear from a Beat ambassador on their lived experience of an eating disorder and you will develop an action plan to end the day.
