DAY 1 : 10am to 6pm
DAY 2 : 10am to 5pm
This course is about how to get better at Copperplate Script. it is not an absolute beginners course but that should not deter you from joining us. To get the best out of this 2 day workshop all participants will be sent a video with which they will need to work. The point of the video is to get you comfortable with a pointed nib, understand the tool, dealing with ink flow and pressure and release using a point flexible nib. If you have pointed pen experience and want to work on your script this course is for you. If you have never picked up a nib and are keen to get formal tuition on the hand pre practise starting from your booking video is essential.
Over the two days we will look at the history of copperplate script and how its past shaped what we know of it today and how it influences the way it is executed in both the modern mind and hand. The course will cover the minuscules, majuscules, numbers and punctuation and will also touch a bit on non-Latin hands like Cyrillic and Greek as well as some basic principles of pointed pen flourishing.
This is a fun but demanding course which will test your skills and push you forward to more accurate calligraphy.
Cancellation policy: If you are unable to make it to the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible. We will arrange refund up to 30 days before the event.
