Description

Are you a woodland owner? Volunteer? Someone looking to get into coppice work? Or simply interested in sustainable woodland management? This one day introduction to coppicing may be just what you have been looking for. Not only will we get a chance to discuss woodland management methods, biodiversity, tree ID and tool usage, we will also be outside coppicing trees using hand tools, processing trees and discovering what materials are on offer e.g. pea sticks, stakes, binders... Helping to instil a methodical working practice in the woods that benefits you and the woodland

This introductory course will leave you feeling more confident about getting to work in the woods

Hot drinks are available but please bring a packed lunch and dress for the weather! Tools are also available but if you have your own tools that you would rather work with please feel free to bring them along
