Armada Coast 1588 Heritage Trail
Ventnor's ‘Armada Coast 1588’, launched in 2025, includes footpaths along the coast between St Lawrence and Bonchurch with heritage boards detailing churches, buildings, cliffs, beacon downs, bays and views that have survived much as they were experienced in 1588.
Length of walk: 4 miles (approx 2 hours, timed to coordinate with local bus service).

Start Location: St Boniface Norman Church, Bonchurch, PO30 1RQ (grid reference: 578781).
End Location: St Lawrence Norman Church, PO38 1XH (grid reference: 536766).
Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.
Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.
Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.
