Overview
Five to Thrive for LLR Partners
Welcome to our online event, Five to Thrive for LLR Partners! Join us for an exciting virtual experience where you'll learn how this model, approach and framework can support your work with families (ALL AGES) - and manage your own challenges too
Five to Thrive encourages secure attachments between caregivers and children (in fact, all ages) to ensure positive brain development to support a child’s emotional resilience and communication skills.
It's demonstrated in a tower of building blocks and gives ideas on how parents and caregivers can be responsive to their children through five key principles (the blocks) - respond, cuddle, relax, play and talk
The wider objectives are :
• Extend Five to Thrive and Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) training across the workforce and partnerships
• Focus on Five to Thrive as a model that promotes secure attachment and underpins recovery from trauma
• Commonality of language and approach between practitioners and partners
• ‘Making every contact count’ by improving how practitioners connect with parents and caregivers
• Fostering positive relationships of support and taking a strengths-based approach to reduce instances of judgment or shaming.
• Helping practitioners to recognise that Trauma Informed Practice is grounded in the science of resilience, and Five to Thrive can be used as a model for meeting the need for safety and connection for children, and within the workforce and families.
