Learning outcomes/ objectives

  • To Understand Malnutrition and the consequence of malnutrition
  • To understand how to complete MUST screening
  • To feel confident to complete MUST screening
  • Understand how to calculate MUST using the BAPEN
  • Understand when it is appropriate to refer to the Community Dietetic Service
  • Understand what information to include on a nutrition & hydration care plan
  • To identify the local policies for preventing & treating people at high risk of malnutrition and the importance of documentation
  • To understand ‘the food first approach’

Please note: The minimum number of participants for the course to take place is 5 participants. If the minimum number is not reached, the Department will contact the participants to cancel the session.

Who is this course aimed at?

The course is aimed at all public or private Health Care staff who wish to develop knowledge in the management of minimising risks of malnutrition in the community
