Description

WHATS HAPPENING

Are you part of a uniform group like Brownies & Guides or Cubs & Scouts? Would you like a chance to participate in a free scrap building challenge for your unit? Children’s Scrapstore Salford is holding a totally FREE event for all uniform groups. This event is open to any uniform groups with members aged 7+. Using scrap and creative supplies from Artragious and The Scrapstore each group will work together to create a totem pole which best represents their unit. As space is limited we ask that unit size is capped at 25 children per totem. If you have a larger unit please contact us on Salford@childrensscrapstore.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate you. As a special bonus there is also a 15% discount on groups signing up either on the day or in the week beforehand!

  • Scrap is collected from a wide range of local businesses. By working with reused materials it encourages individuals to think about sustainability, the environment and the three R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
  • The theme or the totem pole should be “Our group”. This is a chance to reflect on what makes your group fantastic and what you really value. Discussion and working as a team is crucial in this event.
  • By using open ended materials (scrap which has no clear instructions) it leads to a more out-of-the-box style of thinking and a willingness to try new ideas. In combination with the paint provided this lends itself nicely to anyone wanted to develop a more creative side.
