A night of global perspectives, experimental techno and live music performance

About this Event

Event description

The NIGHT EMBASSY champions new directions in Berlin’s club culture: Join us for a night of global perspectives curated by CO:QUO with a live performance by Machine Woman, and sets from Clara Cuvé, ketia, Cressida, and Isabassi.

Each performer brings with them stories from around the world: Machine Woman’s gritty experimental techno reflects the ecstasy of clubbing with the loneliness of spending nights in solitude in London or St. Petersburg, while Clara Cuvé’s time in Munich and abroad has expanded her oeuvre to include tastes of techno jungle, electro, and breakbeat. Cressida, ketia, and Isabassi will share their respective artist journeys from behind the decks, opening a dialogue on the dance floor that will last all night.

The party will take place at the NIGHT EMBASSY, our custom-built modular music and art space in the heart of Kreuzberg. The event is a safe space to cultivate communal knowledge and share experiences: Respect is a must, as is open-mindedness.

The event is free of charge, but capacity is limited. Admission is only guaranteed with a digital ticket, so be sure to download yours today to save your spot.

About Machine Woman

Anastasia Vtorova records gritty experimental techno, lacing minimal rhythms with distortion and unexpected turns. Her music is reflective of the ecstasy of nightlife as well as the loneliness of spending nights in solitude. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, she attended university in London and played in various punk and noise groups. Eventually she started making solo electronic music, but maintained a rebellious, convention-defying spirit with her work. She released a few tapes of experimental music starting in 2014, and her debut vinyl EP, For Sweden, was issued by Peder Mannerfelt’s eponymous label in late 2015. What followed was Genau House, issued by Where to Now? in 2016, and her third vinyl EP, When Lobster Comes Home, released on Technicolour and featuring the revered track “Camile from Ohm Makes Me Feel Loved.”

About Clara Cuvé

Clara Cuvé is a German DJ born in Munich, based in Berlin. Her roots go back to classical piano, in which she was trained since the age of four. Clara’s deep love of music naturally lead her to begin accumulating a record collection throughout the years and start DJing, her first gigs being all-nighters alongside DJ Hell and other representative names of the Munich scene. Following her residency at Munich’s Rote Sonne and becoming part of the Munich label and event Stock5, she made her way to Berlin where she now plays regularly, as well as renomated clubs throughout Europe. From fast groovy techno to breakbeat, jungle and electro, Clara has a huge spectrum of genres which she combines to create her own harmony, always focusing on groove and dynamics.

About ketia (Kit Ket, mina)

ketia has a new found sense of belonging behind decks and feels very grounded in the underground happenings of lisbon a keen ear for new and exciting music, alongside a curious, invested approach to community-building within the lisbon club scene; insists on mixing as many genres as possible with a promise of bangers only started as coatcheck girl at queer rave mina where she debuted and rose to resident and tech bitch founder and co-organizer of trans focused collective Kit Ket - a subversive crossover between a rave and a house party in a non consistent sonic narrative a crystal clear mission on bringing honesty to the table as a gateway to bliss on ravin.

About Cressida

Drawing influence from dubstep, grime, and the harsher sounds lent to strains of metal and hardcore, Cressida originated out of the London underground and has continually developed his own individual style of producing music and DJing.

About Isabassi (Hölle, suspension)

Isabassi is a Brazilian sound composer, DJ and live performer based in Berlin. With a taste for the "deconstructed-rhythmical-noise", her music journeys vary widely within the influences of industrial, breakbeats, dark electro and experimental. Exploring different shapes of events she co-founded Hölle, a series of nights where handpoke tattoo and electronic music are combined, which also features monthly curated music podcasts. Putting together several projects from the last two years, her first album 'Utterly Prone To' on Fox & Hound Recordings was released on July 2019, shortly after her debut on Säule (Berghain), and includes 8 tracks with lots of distorted beats and harsh textures. She had previously released on the multi-disciplinary artist platform suspension (Lisbon/Berlin) first VA compilation, 'Tentacular Kinship', and made her live act debut on their first showcase night in Berlin.
