Target Audience: People who work with children 0-4 in the Early Years sector
This session is aimed at those who work in Early Years and will cover safeguarding for children from birth until their 18th birthday.
Session Aim:
This course will provide participants with learning that will help them to meet the 10 Core Competencies of the LLR Safeguarding Children Competency Framework. It is a foundation course for those who are in positions where they may spot safeguarding concerns, or someone may disclose that they are being harmed.
Session Objectives:
- Understand what is meant by safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and how this impacts on your role.
- Know the different forms of abuse and neglect
- Be aware of some of the signs and indicators that might cause concern
- Understand what makes some children more vulnerable
- Understand your role in sharing information, recording and reporting
This will help to meet Competencies 1 - 10
