Reserve your place on this programme delivered one afternoon a month from Sept 17- July 18.

The sessions will be on a Wednesday afternoon term time only, the first session being 13th September, further dates to be confirmed by June 17.

Who should attend?

You should be a middle leader in a school with the responsibility of leading a team, for example:

  • a key stage leader
  • a subject leader
  • a head of department
  • a new AHT
  • an SLE
  • a lead influencer in your team/department

What’s involved?

The programme is delivered over a school year through face to face group training sessions on a Wednesday afternoon at Barnton Primary School 1.30pm-4pm.

Through interactive engaging development sessions each delegate will;

  • Contribute to peer led discussion and decision making
  • Complete gap tasks prior to each session
  • Identify professional development goals
  • Share leadership development progress and actions

Session Objectives

Leading a team

  • To recognise different leadership styles
  • To have a greater understanding of different leadership styles
  • To recognise characteristics to a high performing team and explore a leaders responsibility to deliver them


  • To understand non-verbal communication
  • To communicate assertively to get what you want by working WITH people


  • To explore motivating factors
  • To identify strategies to motivate and engage your teams


  • To identify how you can use the FISH principles with colleagues
  • To identify a FISH principle you need to utilise more often

Delivering feedback

  • To explore the challenges to delivering effective feedback
  • To practice delivering feedback using a selection of tools

Managing Change

  • To identify the reasons why individuals react differently to change
  • To match the appropriate management style to manage team members experiencing change

Dealing with conflict

  • To explain conflict and the impact it can have on you and your teams
  • To discuss conflict you have experienced and consider the reasons for that conflict

Team activity

How much does it cost?

Registration £120

Each monthly training session £60

Upon registration RWCC will contact you to arrange invoicing which can be paid up front or termly.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking at the school

What can I bring into the event?

Just a pen, pad and the book I send you please

What's the refund policy?

Once your school is registered that place remains for the year - the staff member can be changed if neccessary though.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes but please inform Rebecca before the sessions
