Core Skills for Children's Work is a training programme exploring the basics for working with children and young people.

*Please note, this booking is for a 6 session course*
This course is suitable for all. Whether you have been working with children and young people for a while, or you are brand new to it. If you are volunteering or paid, working with a 5 year old or a 12 year old.
During this course we will explore 6 areas of children's work. Please note, this course will be held online on Tuesday evenings starting at 7.30pm, excluding the school spring break.
15th March - Module 1. Child Development - To reflect on and extend understanding of how children develop, and to apply this understanding to interaction with children.
22nd March - Module 2. Working as a Team - To enable participants to identify and reflect on their current skills and encourage them to actively seek support for themselves in their work with children.
29th March - Module 3. Programme Planning - To develop an understanding of how children learn and the skills required to deliver a programme relevant to their needs.
19th April - Module 4. Children and Community - To explore ways of working among children in a variety of contexts beyond the local church.
26th April - Module 5. Pastoral Awareness - To explore the pastoral issues involved in working with children and reflect on practice.
3rd May - Module 6. The Bible and Prayer - To explore ways of handling Bible stories and encouraging prayer with children.
