Join Us for a Full Day of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Orthoptic CPD Training. Earn approx 9 -10 CPD points(TBC).
Heart of West Midlands Optical Confederation, invites you to a full-day clinical training event focused on paediatric ophthalmology and orthoptics. This hands-on and lecture-based workshop offers approximately 9–10 CPD points (TBC) and is open to all optometrists working in Black Country and Birmingham Region—spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
🎟️ Tickets are priced at £19 and £3 per ticket will be donated to The Brain Tumour Charity.

🍽 Includes: Refreshments and a warm lunch
👩⚕️ Speakers: Delivered by expert ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and optometrists from local eye hospitals.
Tentative Programme:
10:00–11:30 – Children’s Red Eyes (IP Peer Review): Interactive group discussion led by an ophthalmologist – 3 CPD
11:30–11:45 – Tea/Coffee Break
11:45–12:45 – Accommodation & Convergence Investigations (Orthoptist-led) – 2 CPD
12:45–1:45 – Lunch
1:45–3:00 – Hands-On Workshop (Orthoptist-led practicals in small groups) – 3 CPD
3:00–3:15 – Tea/Coffee Break
3:15–5:00 – Prescribing After Cycloplegic Refraction (Optometrist-led discussion & case workshop) – 2 CPD

Multiple tickets booked per email address will result in the bookings being cancelled.
Any cancellations on or after 20th June 2025 or failure to attend may affect your ability to book places on future events provided by the workforce development fund.
