Cornish wild food foraging event
Mon 17 April 2017, 10:00 – 13:30 BST
A fantastic opportunity to explore the best of Cornish wild food. This course has not one, not 2, but 3 experienced foragers leading the event. Myself Matthew Normansell of Eden Wild Food, Kerry Woodfield of Woodfield Wild (a cornish native) and local cornish wild food specialist Matt Vernon or Cornish Wild Food.
This spring course starts at 10am, there is a national trust car park by the beach, and we shall assemble there. We will cover some safety points and have a brief discussion of foraging law, ethics and sustainable harvesting.
The next couple of hours we will be covering 15+ species of wild food in depth with an aim to get you very familar with these species by the end of the course. We will cover identification and toxic look alikes, folk lore, preparation and cooking tips, and harvesting techniques.
After the course we will be cooking some tasty treats with wild food some of which we will have collected on the walk.
A unique opportunity to taste the wild food of cornwall and absorb the collective knowledge of three professional foraging guides with a combined 60 years of experience.
