Cornwall Teacher Training Information Evening

This free Train to Teach information evening is designed to provide you with information on pursuing a career in teaching and how to apply for training in England.
This particular event will focus on post-graduate providers of school based Initial Teacher Training (SCITT and School Direct routes) within Cornwall.
Don’t miss your opportunity to find out more. Drop in at any time during the event to attend a presentation* on the different teacher training options, receive one-to-one advice on your training options, talk to trainees and practising teachers to find out about life in the classroom and meet representatives from a range of providers who deliver teacher training in Cornwall to find out about their courses and entry requirements.
*The Train to Teach presentation covering basic information and requirements for teacher training will answer many of the general questions you might have about training to teach. The presentation will start at 6pm allowing time to speak with individual ITT providers before and after.
Who is the event for?
The event is aimed at those who are thinking about a career in teaching whether considering a career change, looking to embark on teacher training straight out of University or weighing up options for the future.
All of the providers represented at the event offer post-graduate routes into teaching so this event will be relevant to those currently completing a degree or who already hold a degree.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
This event is being hosted by Peninsula SCITT from their training centre at Penrice Academy.
Penrice Academy sits on the outside of St Austell town, just off the Mount Charles Roundabout on the A390. The school can be found on Charlestown Road, which leads down towards the Harbour, with access from Holmbush Road, Mount Charles Road, Carlyon Bay and the A390 Eastbound. There is plenty of free parking on site.
The Academy is around a 15 minute walk or short taxi ride from St Austell train station.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You will not need your ticket to gain entry to the event but pre registering to attend through this site will speed up the registration process upon arrival.
