Corporate Fundraising Strategy & How To Approach Businesses

Corporate partnerships are increasingly a major aspiration for charities, and for good reason. In an era of austerity and public spending cuts, they can be a key to lucrative funding sources. Partnering with business can also be a way of tapping into expertise, volunteers, networking and marketing opportunities. But where do you start?

Based on decades of experience, this workshop will guide you through the nuts and bolts of how corporate partnerships work. We'll help you understand the corporate fundraising potential of your small charity and what you need to do to build rewarding corporate partnerships.

This session will cover:

  • What is corporate fundraising; why and how companies support the voluntary sector.
  • How to develop a corporate fundraising strategy.
  • Defining your offering and standing out in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • Making approaches, refining and delivering your pitch and closing the deal.
  • Building and staying on top of your pipeline.
  • The workshop includes several group and practical exercises to apply what you've learnt and get your creative juices flowing.
