Description

A DISCUSSION OF THE CORPORATE INTERFERENCE WITH A MOTHER’S HUMAN RIGHT TO BREASTFEED

Unpacking the digital marketing practices of infant milk formula companies from a business, health and human rights perspective

Dr Clare Patton is a research fellow based in the Health and Human Rights Unit in the School of Law, QUB. She researches how multinational corporations affect our everyday lives - this can be how companies use language on social media or the methods used when marketing products. For her most recent paper she considers the human right of a mother to breastfeed, within a legal framework, and discusses how corporations can infringe upon this human right with their marketing of infant milk formula.

The format is a talk followed by Q&A, with time after for general discussion and updates from community members

***Due to high demand we have changed room to The Moot Court (from 09.022)**** QUB School of Law, Main Site Tower, University Square, BT7 1NN
