Event description

Description

Whilst producing their own set of bath bombs and a lip balm, attendees will investigate the difference between acidic and alkaline solutions. They will discover how they can neutralise each other in a reaction by forming a salt. The workshop also allows them to observe the properties of oils and waxes and how they are able to dissolve into one another, giving them a better understanding of the chemical processes behind the manufacture of the products they take away.

As well as being fun this workshop is a great introduction to pH, neutralisation, solubility and changes of state.

Please note this workshop will include a 30 minute lunch break when parents are welcome to return and meet their children. A member of LYSC staff will be on hand in the case of an emergency.

Discounted tickets are available to Members of the Ri. Find out more about how to join.
