Event description

Description

How to price a product or service, and price it right can seem a daunting challenge for any new creative business but taking into account the factors which influence price, which system of cost price versus value-based to use plus considering the impact of competition can all help determine the most effective pricing strategy. Pricing forms an integral part of the business plan and affects your profit margin as well as creating a perceived value to your target customers, this in turn affects your brand image and potential position within the market place. It’s important to get right!

Chloe Rodham, is a freelance animator from Newcastle and specializes in stop motion techniques and After Effects animation, working in a variety of digital and traditional techniques to create short films. Chloe will be on hand to talk about her own journey into self employment and offer up lots of useful hints and tips on how as a freelancer you can price your work accordingly.

After a short lunch break the session will re-start with some inspiring young guests coming along to chat about their own entrepreneurial journeys and is the ideal opportunity to find out how they started their businesses, perhaps funded their equipment, promoted themselves on social media and what plans do they have for growth in the future in an informal Q&A setting. It’s also worth considering this session to contribute back towards your own market research and the value of establishing new contacts from a networking perspective! These young entrepreneurs could be your next mentor or be in a position to lead industry introductions.

Ladders is aimed at helping 18-24 year olds get a foot in the door. Over the course of 12 weeks, you’ll work with an industry mentor to develop your skills in either film, music or software development. You’ll learn valuable employability skills, develop your CV, visit local companies, and build that all-important network.

The next Ladders course starts in February 2018. If you'd like to know more about how we can help you kick start your career then visit our website HERE or feel free to message me with enquiries at cal@generator.org.uk
