Description

Join us on American Indepence Day and allow our costumed guide, The Deep Fat Friar as he hilariously takes you back through Coventrys timeline from its very beginning with St Osburgh and her monastery before she was killed by the vikings "i am Utrecht, son of Utrecht" no you're not.

Skip forward to 1020-1030 and Lady Godiva and her husband Leofric, the Earl of Mercia founding a Benedictine monastery for Russ Abbott and 24 friars, join us as we explore the Priory Undercrofts where the friars would party hard on Mede, Wine and Ale.

We then move to the Medival City Wall built between 1535 and 1534 because Coventry was so prosperous we needed protecting. Our took takes in Swanswell Gate, Cook St Gate, Bishops Gate, 2 of the remaining 20 towers, Hill Street Gate, Spon St Gate (The greatest), Greyfriars, Queen Isabellas Crib, The Martyrs Cross, The Medieval House they couldnt bothered to move, the gate thats not a gate, the wall thats not a wall and Whitefriars, party capital of medieval England. We finish off with Gosford Gate, Uni wall and the swimming baths where this whole merry caper started.
