About this event

💜 Cottage Companion Workshop: Crafting Herbal Treasures Together

Step into my stillroom — a small Tudor-style space lined with herbs, bottles, and old apothecary charm — and spend two gentle hours crafting remedies and treasures with your own hands.

This is a workshop for 1–2 people, held in my cottage near Leatherhead. Together, we’ll share stories, scent, and making, while the apothecary cabinet and oak beams watch over us.

What You Might Make (choose two):

✨ A soft body butter for skin and senses

✨ A healing herbal salve, made with infused oils and beeswax

✨ A scented candle, hand-poured and botanically dressed

✨ A herbal tincture or spiced vinegar, drawn from the season’s plants

✨ A floral water, made with petals and memory

Each guest chooses two items to make and take home. Ingredients and tools are provided, along with tea and a little sweetness from the stillroom.

🌿 Perfect for: curious beginners, plant lovers, or anyone craving a quiet, companionable escape.

🌿 Includes: all materials, your finished creation, and light refreshments.

🌿 Duration: 2 hours

🌿 For: 1–2 people

🌿 Exchange: £55 per person

🌿 Location: my home apothecary in Bookham, Surrey (near Leatherhead). Exact address provided upon booking

Bring only your curiosity and open hands 🌼A table of herbs and bottles is waiting, ruffles and laughter included.

🌞 This is a soft, fragrant invitation to pause — to stir balm, light a candle, and return to the beauty of making something with your hands.

Geanina is a qualified teacher, living historian and forager based in Surrey, England.

Geanina brings two decades of teaching experience to her immersive workshops, where history, nature, and hands-on crafting meet. Growing up in a rural village shaped her deep respect for the land and traditional skills, and her passion for herbal remedies and ancient crafts took root in the countryside.

As a living historian, Geanina brings history to life through her fascination with 15th to18th-century stillrooms, where household remedies, aromatic waters, and cosmetics were skillfully prepared by maids and gentlewomen. Often dressed in medieval or Tudor costume, she brings history to life with engaging demonstrations of traditional herbal practices, filling the air with the evocative scents of dried herbs, roses, and spices.
