About this event
Pick up the thread of living history and experience this wonderful 200 year old tradition
Join Rosie Finnegan-Bell, a fourth-generation Lace-maker, at the awarding winning Killeavy Castle Estate on the slopes of the stunning Slieve Gullion for a truly special feel-good experience where she will share with you the incredible richness of the local lace tradition.
Rosie and her fellow lace-makers continue a lace making tradition that began in Culloville village almost 200-years ago garnering a reputation as the King of the Irish Laces and paving the way for the renowned Irish lace-making tradition of Carrickmacross Lace.
As a gifted story teller, Rosie will regale you with amazing lace stories from the local area and will show you some of her beloved antique lace and pattern collection.
During this memorable experience, you will see how the lace is made before trying your hand at the basic lace-making techniques as Rosie guides you in creating your very own piece of lace.
