This summer, the Back Burn has been undergoing a transformation at Coul Den Reservoir, on the northern edge of Glenrothes. The burn has been restored to a more natural state to benefit wildlife and biodiversity, and footpaths have been improved to help ensure this is a lovely place for locals to continue to visit.
Our Coul Den Community River Walk is a rare chance for you to walk around this area with project managers from Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. We will explain what the river restoration works involve, why they are being carried out and how they will make a difference. Feel free to ask questions!
Read all about the project here.
Coul Den is phase one in the Back Burn River Restoration Project. The next phase is at Balbirnie Park next year. So if you live in that area, you might like to come along and see what has already been achieved at Coul Den.
Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions and walking shoes/boots. There is free parking at Coul Den and public toilets are available at FCCT's base at the Pitcairn Centre half a mile away (10 minute walk).
If you book places but then can't attend, please let us know by cancelling your ticket on Eventbrite, or by emailing ask.us@fifecountryside.co.uk or phoning 01592 656080. This will ensure we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list. Nearer the event date we will email all participants with details of the meeting place.
If you cancel your tickets, which have an associated payment/donation, you will be responsible for paying the Eventbrite administration fee.
